Franca Brown (who was born on 17 May 1967) is a veteran Nigerian born Nollywood actress who is famous for her role in 'Behind the Cloud' in 1980s and 'Jezebel' in the 1990s.

Franca Brown started acting while she was a Theatre Arts student at the university of Jos. She went for an audition for a small girl role in 'Behind the Clouds', but surprisingly, she was given the role of a mother of two children because the producers felt she has a motherly disposition. Suddenly, her name Franca Brown 'disappeared' and everyone on the street was calling her Mama Nosa and Efe, not even the Adesuwa that was the character’s name.
Franca Brown used to do interior decoration for some blue chip industries alongside acting. She returned fully into the movie industry when she realised it has started becoming lucrative.
When Franca Brown passed out from youth service (NYSC) in Jos, she relocated to Lagos, and secured a job in the bank. When the Nollywood film industry started, she came into the industry.
After starring in Behind the Cloud, Franca Brown did 'Jezebel', which was one of the pioneer films in Nollywood where she played the role of Mrs Ezeani, a wicked mother in-law to her son, 'Ifeanyi' played by the late Francis Agu.Â
