Nollywood actress, Nkechi Nweje has been buried today, Friday 23rd of May 2025 in Onitsha, Anambra State, Nigeria.

Nkechi Nweje (June 5, 1968 - March 21, 2025) was a 56-year-old popular Nigerian actress who died on the 21st of March 2025 at the age of 56 after a brief illness.

Mrs Nkechi Winifred Nweje née Odukwe was a native of Onitsha in Anambra state, Nigeria. She was married to her husband Dr AC Nweje with children. 

She was known for her motherly roles in many movies where she acted alongside top Nollywood star actors and actresses.

In attendance at her funeral were Peter Obi, Ebele Okaro, Jennifer Paul, Onyinye Okafor, Evan Okoro, among several others.
