Abigail Frederick, Nollywood makeup artist has died in the boat accident that took place in River Niger While returning from movie shoot. 



Abigail Frederick was among the five actors and crew members that drowned in the river on set of 'The Other Side Of Life' - a movie produced by Adanma Luke. She died alongside Junior Pope, Precious Sound Guy, Olanti Camera Assistant.

Abigail Frederick Burial, Funeral: The body of Abigail Fredrick, the makeup artist has been found and buried at the bank of the river in Asaba. 
Abigail Frederick's corpse was recovered on 11th of April and buried same day. It was later exhumed and buried in her village in Akwa Ibom state.

May her soul rest in peace... As body of the camera man was recovered alongside that of Abigail while others are yet to be found

Who is Abigail Frederick?

Biography Wikipedia: Abigail Frederick (born 2000) was a 24-year-old Nigerian born Nollywood makeup artist from Akwa Ibom who died in a boat accident on 10th of April 2024 and was buried on 11th of April 2024. 
She died at the age of 24. 

She died without a husband or a child as she was not married. She was survived by her parents, siblings and family.

Abigail Frederick hailed from Akwa Ibom State, she was a native of Ikot Udoma in Eket, Akwa Ibom State.

She was a graduate of Theater Arts from the University of Uyo (UNIUYO).



She put her two siblings, sisters in the University of Uyo.

Living to his billing as the epitome of compassion, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, on arrival from an official engagement in Abuja, this afternoon drove straight to the family compound of the late Nollywood make- up artist. Abigail Edith Frederick, in Ikot Udoma, Eket Local Government Area, where he consoled the bereaved family.

Showing deep emotions, Governor Eno, sat with the grieving family members and told them he feels their pain.

“This is deeply unfortunate, a young girl, 24 years old, who, finished her Youth Service just last year, and decided to pursue her passion.

“This is a reflection of our Arise spirit. It shows that our young people are willing to go out there, not begging, not waiting for handouts, but to pursue their passions.

“It is sad and unfortunate that her life ended the way it did.

“Once I was fully briefed, I decided to come here personally with the full complement of Government to console and encourage the family.

“You are not just the Governor when people are celebrating. In times and moments like this, you become the Mourner- in-Chief and give them hope.

“I trust the Holy Spirit will perfect the hope in their lives.

“Coming here means we care. You know Akwa Ibomites are like Americans. We don’t leave each other behind. Government will be with the family and support them.”

The Governor thereafter gave an automatic employment in the State Civil Service to the surviving elder sister of the deceased, and directed the SSA on Humanitarian Services, Umo Ekpo to renovate the family house and bring it to modern standards.

The Governor also assured of Government’s assistance to the two sisters of the bereaved who are undergraduates at the University of Uyo, said to be sponsored by the late Nollywood make- up artist.

Body Of Makeup Artiste, Abigail Frederick, Who Died In Boat Mishap Alongside Exhumed After Akwa Ibom Governor's Directive.




Abigail Frederick's body was exhumed on April 14, 2024 and was taken to her home state, Akwa Ibom, where she was buried.


Late Nollywood Makeup Artist, Abigail Frederick, Buried In Her Hometown In Akwa Ibom

The late 24-year-old Nollywood makeup artist, Abigail Fredrick, has been buried in her hometown in Ikot Udoma, Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, on Monday 15th April 2024.



Abigail Frederick was among the five film practitioners, including Junior Pope, who died when their boat capsized on the River Niger last Wednesday.

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, instructed that her body be returned to the state for a proper burial after she was said to have been buried by the riverbank.

Following the governor's directive, her body was exhumed on Sunday, April 14.


A candle-light procession was also said to have been held in her honour.






A Facebook user, Ubong David, who shared pictures from the burial on Monday wrote, "Today, the late Abigail Frederick, the Nollywood makeup artist who tragically lost her life in the ill-fated boat mishap, has been laid to rest at the family compound in Ikot Udoma, Eket Local Government Area.

"The funeral service was conducted by the Church of Christ, Ikot Udoma, and was attended by various dignitaries, including the Eket Transition Committee Chairman, Akaniyene Tommey; Commissioner for Tourism, Charles Udoh; SA on Entertainment, Moses Eskor; Godfada Uko, members of the Eket Transition Committee, Nollywood actress, Eve Esin, the Nollywood community, friends, and sympathisers."
