Professor Tahir Mamman is the Minister of Education in Nigeria under President Bola Tinubu. He is a Professor of law, Senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Educational administrator and the Director-general of the Nigeria Law School from 2005 to 2013.

Tahir Mamman was the Vice chancellor of Baze University Abuja and a member governing board of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) before his appointment as a Minister.

Professor Tahir Mamman is a Lawyer who studied law at the Ahmadu Bello University where he graduated with LL.B degree in 1983. He was call to the bar at the Nigerian Law School in 1984.

University Of Maiduguri Lecturer: Prof. Tahir Mamman started his lecturing career at the University of Maiduguri in the Faculty of Law where he taught  law for 17 years.

He rose to become the Dean in the Faculty of Law at UNIMAID. He was the head of department common law from 1991 to 1997 at the University of Maiduguri.

He was the students affairs dean in the University of Maiduguri from 1997 to 2000.

Law School, Kano: Tahir Mamman was the deputy director of Nigeria Law School Kano campus from 2001 to 2005 before he become the Director General. Professor Mamman was the Director-general of the Nigeria Law School from 2005 to 2013.

Baze University VC: Professor Tahir Mamman was the Vice Chancellor of Baze University, Abuja prior to his appointment as Minister for education. He was initially appointed in January 2016 as Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics and Dean of Law, of Baze University. The University is owned by Peter Obi's running mate, Yusuf Baba-Ahmed.
