Pastor Femi Faseru was an IT professional based in the UK. He had to sacrifice his work and business considering the fact that seven years before he was called, he was married and had two children already. He had to walk out of his business and work in the church that was barely kicking off in Nigeria.Â
Femi Faseru had left the Nigeria to go and live in the United Kingdom on his own. He decided to come back to Nigeria in 2003 out of conviction.
He had a job and business there, it wasn’t sensible to come back home but he knew what God spoke to his spirit in June 2002 to leave the UK.
What Pastor Femi Faseru Was Doing Before Being Called To Become A Pastor (How Femi Faseru Became A Pastor)
Pastor Femi Faseru said to be honest that he never saw a vision, God never spoke to him directly. In fact, he was minding his own business in England, doing IT. He pioneered a couple of things in US, majorly in software testing and assurance. By the grace of God, he set up a school in UK which happens to be the first of its kind in Europe and a lot of people came through this school. They were even using University of East London for lecture and people learnt how to work with big organization. In Scotland, they came to get people to come and work after finishing weekend programmes.
He felt very comfortable with what he was doing until he started feeling a nudging in his spirit that God wanted him to leave UK in the midst of his success and he prayed more. He felt maybe God wanted him to move to the USA until that time a company had asked to come over and have given him a work permit to come over and work for them. He wasn’t led to go so he stayed. He came back to Nigeria to start his IT business, it wasn’t until about that time his pastor, Matthew Ashimolowo called him and told him to come and pastor the church in Nigeria. It was an act of obedience, he has been his mentor, so he will obey first before complaining if there happens to be complain.
Pastor Femi Faseru started and it wasn’t until two and half years then the church has grown from 100 to about 700 people.

It was a session of Thanksgiving and praise to God Almighty as amiable Pastor Femi Faseru, the National Superintendent of Kingsway International Christian Centre KICC and Resident Pastor, Maryland, celebrated his 50th birthday
Held at the imposing KICC Dome, Marland, Lagos, which was creatively transformed into a convivial and classy venue, the evening was attended by family, respected men of God and friends from way back.
The event which began with cocktails and canapes officially began with an opening prayer by Archbishop Ademola Ademowo, who is a family friend and had known the celebrant from when he was toddler.
There was a session of praise and worship and an engaging performance by Teenage Dance group, Xplicit and then what could be considered the highest point of the event was the documentary of Faseru's journey on earth.
The documentary showcased his birth, how as a baby he fell from a one storey building and survived, his health challenge and how he became a committed Christian.
There were some speeches too by Archbishop Ademowo, Representative of Mrs Bolanle Ambode, Bashorun Dele Momodu and Pastor Yemisi Ashimolowo.
In his remarks, Pastor Faseru who was filled with immense joy thanked all who came to mark the special occasion for their support and prayers.
The celebrant and wife, Sade later cut his cake and from then on it was dance galore.

"I met my wife September, 1994. It was in the UK and she had been living in the UK. She studied in the UK and a cousin of hers who was a friend of mine in Nigeria here, I wanted to meet up with her in the UK. There was this party that was going to come up, I invited that lady and she was going to come so that I will get to see her and gist with her. Her name is Dupe Awe. So I invited her but she needed someone to drive her to the party. So she invited her cousin (my wife now) so that she could drive her. When she then told me they were coming with a car, I stayed in my house and I gave her my house address to come. I was living with Gbenga Olunloyo at that time. So when they came, I decided to offer them dinner and jokingly I said what would they like to eat, that would they like to eat Amala? So they settled for Amala, and I went to the kitchen to do it and I made nice Amala for them. So I guess my wife thought this must be an angel; how on earth can a man be able to make Amala this way! So, later she told me that made a huge impression on her."
"So we became friends almost immediately and we kept on talking. So that is how I met her and in 1996 we got married."
