D'banj surprised Living Faith Aka Winners Chapel worshippers on Sunday 25th of November 2007 as he mounted the pulpit at Cananland to testify to the goodness of the Lord and how He has blessed his music with his MTV EMA Best African Act award at Munich, Germany. He also testified about being appointed the first Nigerian United Nations youth Ambassador for peace.
The congregation greeted him with a loud/standing ovation to the dismay of church pastor. One member said "Even the Bishop doesn't get this kind of applause".
People screamed "d'BAAAAAAANNNNNJJJJJJJ" while they waved their hands at him.
D'banj was reportedly a member of Living Faith church choir before he fell out with the church and led to his father being allegedly sacked as a church pastor. His brother was also reportedly suspended from the church University, Covenant University sometime ago.
